Discover how today's engineers are inspiring the world at this interactive experience for all ages at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum. Participate in hands-on engineering challenges in the Museum’s atrium facilitated by local engineers from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
BASF Kids' Lab: A Hair Raising-Experiment

At Louisiana Art and Science Museum, join young scientists (ages 6-12) and their accompanying adults to explore the chemistry of a product that keeps you looking your best. Together observe and compare some interesting properties of matter, such as viscosity.

Join Louisiana Art and Science Museum for Studio Saturdays, a new series of interactive workshops for young creators (ages 8 - 14) and their accompanying adults. On our June 15th at 2pm workshop, learn about biodiversity and animal extinction while making one-of-a-kind artworks! After touring the exhibition Frameworks of Absence, participants will create collages of imaginary animals using found images in encyclopedias and picture books.

The Highland Road Observatory (HRPO) is hosting Science Academy sessions for eight- to twelve-year-olds focusing on the planets. Sessions are available in the evening sky during the next eight weeks.

Each session has a slideshow, demonstrations and experiments, and a chance to grab free giveaways and win a door prize.
The cost is $5 per child ($6 for non-EBR kids).
Walk-ins are welcome, but parents can register up to two weeks ahead of time either in person at HRPO, over the phone (225-768-9948), or online via WebTrac
Each session must have at least four registrants by 6pm on the Friday before. If not, the event will be cancelled or rescheduled.
